Many treadmill manufacturers give long warranties on the frame, but this is the least of your concerns. The most crucial things to check are the motor, treadbelt and electronic components. Most warranties will cover a motor for a maximum of 5 years, the belt for a maximum of two and parts and labor for 1 year.
When buying a used treadmill buy one that is a recognized quality brand. A treadmill that was built with quality components has a better chance of lasting a long time. Also, buying a quality used treadmill from a well-known brand means you'll probably still be able to get spare parts. Good quality brands include; Landice, Bowflex, Trimline and PaceMaster.
Ask the previous owner lots of questions. Find out if they were the only owner. If somebody had the treadmill before them, it's probably not worth your money no matter how low the cost.
Buying used treadmills is a great way to save money. Knowing where to buy a used treadmill and what to look out for is vital if you aren't going to be buying an expensive piece of junk.
